Boston is the birthplace of America. The nation’s history is embedded in the city’s narrow, winding streets, in its historic meeting houses and churches and in the dark green waters of Boston Harbor. The Greenway Center site is in the middle of one of the most historically significant sections of the city: the Bulfinch Triangle Historic District. It’s an area named for noted 19th Century architect Charles Bulfinch, a Boston native who was responsible for the design of Boston Common, the Massachusetts State House and the remodeling and expansion of Faneuil Hall. With the completion of the Central Artery/Tunnel Project, this historic district is poised for a new beginning and promising future. And the Greenway Center will be in the center of that story.
